it's car week!

By Rio Beth Macapanpan

To be honest i don't drive at all and I have a little knowledge about cars, but for some reason i bought a car, actually we did, my friend May and I used to go to work together and it's been so long that she uses her dad's car and she has some difficulties borrowing it so we just take the metro and the bus if we can't use it. I told her we should buy a second hand car since we're spending money on the metro why not put our money together and spend it on a car that's more convenient for us since we go together, and separately spending our money. So we put our money together for the gas and to pay for the car also, So I asked my friend Kiru to get us a really cheap car, He bought us a 1992 edition, four door, Acura Integra, my friend was kinda disappointed cause it was really old and rusty, but even i don't have any idea about cars i told her we'll just maintain it and it's good to go.

Here are some ways for me to help you maintain your old car:

About few weeks ago we got flat tire cause May hit a sidewalk, so we went to tire shop to fix it. Tip1: if you have an old car you can go to tire shop that replace your tire with used tires, it is very cheap and they can change it if it has problems, that way you can save money.
Tip2: if the tire don't have holes and it's just flat and your really in a hurry, you can go to the nearest drug store (specifically Rite Aid) to buy "instant air", I just called it instant air because i forgot the name of that thing, it's a can that you shake and put in the tire to pump the air, 1 can per 1 tire and that will help, 1 can of that will last until 3 months and we bought that for $8.00. but anyway, it's a way to help you find out if it has holes.

Last week we bought a new carpet for the car, it only cause us $6.95, Tip: if your saving money go to dollar store and you will find a nice cheap products for your car.

Cleaning an old car is not that hard to do, you can use a small vacuum cleaner to clean the carpeted parts of the car and use water and soap to clean the dirty parts inside the car and if you kinda lazy to clean the outside part, do car wash, there are lots of car wash shops out there and of course you can pick the cheapest.

Oil change, this is basically known so i don't have to explain further.

We scheduled a re-paint job tomorrow, it's original color is blue green but we chose a black color. Tip: if you will buy a really old rusty car, you should paint it in black, black will do the illusion, even it's old it'll look better whatever car it is in black color.

Though repainting is kinda expensive my advice to you is use a middle man when buying an old car like we did, you will pay monthly for the car and everything that is needed to be fixed is included there, but be sure that you know the middle person before you choose him and make sure that he knows how to do buy and sell otherwise you will spend more money that your not suppose to.

Well, that's about it, i don't have any pictures of the car but i put a link image that will probably look like that when the repaint job is done.

Thanks so much you have a good day! Remember, it doesn't matter if it's old or new car, we should take care of our car like we do with our home, so it will serve us for a long period of time.
